Scott J. Storey

Founder, Managing Director

Scott Storey has spent his entire career in the financial services industry advising clients on some of their most meaningful investment decisions.

Prior to founding 3Chopt Investment Partners, Scott worked for a family office leading their investing in the public and private markets. There he allocated capital across a wide range of asset classes including venture capital, private equity, real estate, public equity, and fixed income.

Before working with the family office, Scott was a Managing Director with BB&T Capital Markets advising business owners on their strategic alternatives, including mergers & acquisitions and raising debt and equity capital. Previously, he worked in Southeast Asia for a not-for-profit entity helping early-stage companies raise growth capital. Scott began his career with PriceWaterhouseCoopers providing operational and financial consulting services to distressed companies.

Scott enjoys being active in the community; he formerly served as President of the Richmond chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Country Club of Virginia. Now that his two daughters are in college, Scott has more time to go for runs, play squash, and travel with his wife, Mollie.

Scott received a B.S. in Commerce from the University of Virginia with a second major in Economics. He also earned an M.B.A from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Scott is registered as an Investment Advisor Representative.
